About Silke
Hello, I am Silke!
I believe that the purpose of life is to be well connected. Connected to nature, to our environment. Connected to others. Connected to the voice of our heart, our inner self. If we are well connected, life is easy for us. We flow with it and experience deep satisfaction, peace and balance. We are successful at our job and business and work on it with passion and joy.
But when we move abroad we often loose this connection. We struggle to adapt to a new environment. We question a thousand things about the different normality people around us live in. As a result, we often lose orientation and also trust in our perception.
My mission is to help you to create a well-connected life abroad.
I help you to perform easily in culturally diverse settings, to learn what you need and to expand your repertoire of skills. I show you how you overcome struggles and create a state of flow and focus that leads you to success, deep satisfaction and happiness – wherever you are.
Originally from Germany, I have lived for more than 15 years in Indonesia. In that time, I have been through all ups and downs a life abroad has to offer: From excitement to deep frustration, from fascination to desperation, from bustling energy to sickness. With the help of wonderful people I managed to overcome all struggles and by doing so I gained a wealth of knowledge and extraordinary life skills. Just along the way I discovered an easy yet miraculously effective way to work on the mindset of people.
I combined this with all my academic knowledge of psychology and intercultural communication, enriched it with my year-long living abroad experiences and up-to-date scientific findings and created a customized consultation for people working abroad.
With my clients from all over the world I work online either One-on-One or in training courses. My coaching methods are enriched with Brain Gym® exercises, mindfulness practices and the findings of the human energy flow.
Do you want to work with me?
I am a motivated, forward-looking, well-organized, deeply honest and compassionate coach that is fascinated by the humanity and the colorful cultures around our planet. I´m easy in empathizing with others – may they be people from different cultures or my coaching clients. Thanks to my inherent synaesthesia I´m able to feel the small nuances of human minds and have a 6th sense for energies.
My aim is to provide clarity in complex and confusing situations or relationships to my clients. By using conversation strategies and Brain Gym® exercises I work on deleting blockades in mind and energy flow in order to enable my clients to access their potential.
I find it very important to have a positive and trustful relationship to the people I live and work with. I value my network of clients, partners and colleagues all over the world and spend many efforts to cherish it as well as I can.
I am a former gymnastic athlete and have become a passionate yogi over the last years. Since my childhood these sports (in case we call yoga “sport”) have shown me that mental well-being and clarity in brain is directly related to physical activity.
I am also a nature-loving wife of a Javanese artist and the mother of 2 adorable German-Indonesian princesses that we raise with the heritage of 2 cultures and in 4 languages. I have a soft spot for spirituality and love getting lost in stories that are told in books and art.
My education and professional experience
I graduated in Business Management (BA) and Communication Psychology (MA) and completed a University based course in Intercultural Business Communication.
For more than 15 years I have lived in Indonesia. I researched about Javanese culture, organized cultural programs for the Goethe-Institute Jakarta and worked many years for the development aid program of the German International Cooperation (GIZ) in different regions of Indonesia.
Since 2012 I have provided cross-cultural training and coaching to teams and individuals of companies, humanitarian organizations and universities in Indonesia.
Since 2012, I have been studying Touch For Health and in 2016 I completed Brain Gym® 101 that enables me to work as Brain Gym® Therapist.
